Your Privacy Matters

Smart Wallet is designed as an offline-first personal finance app. Your financial information stays on your own device. We do not operate servers, require accounts, collect analytics, or sell your personal information.

About Smart Wallet

Smart Wallet ("the app", "we", "us") is a personal income and expense manager developed by Stibin Augustine. The app is built to help users manage their finances privately. All financial data remains stored locally on your device unless you explicitly choose to export it or enable optional AI features.

Summary

All transactions, budgets, bills, savings goals, and reports are stored locally on your device.
No user accounts are required.
No advertisements are shown.
No analytics or tracking technologies are used.
No financial information is sent to us.
Only optional AI requests or exports leave your device, and only when you choose.

Information Stored on Your Device

The app stores the following information locally:

Income and expense transactions
Categories and budget limits
Savings goals
Bills and subscriptions
Receipt details scanned or entered manually
Currency selection and app preferences
PIN and biometric preference stored securely using encrypted device storage

You can permanently delete all information at any time by clearing the application's data or uninstalling Smart Wallet.

Permissions Used

📷 Camera & Photos Used for scanning or attaching receipts. Receipt text recognition happens locally using Google ML Kit. Images and receipt data are never sent to us.

🎤 Microphone Used for voice-based expense entry. Speech recognition is handled by your device.

🔔 Notifications Used for reminders, budget alerts, subscription reminders, and scheduled insights. Notifications are generated locally on your device.

🔒 Biometrics Used only if you enable App Lock. Fingerprint or Face Unlock is handled entirely by your device's operating system.

🌐 Internet Only required when you enable optional AI Insights using your own API key.

AI Insights (Optional)

AI features are disabled by default.

If you choose to provide your own API key (OpenRouter, Anthropic, or OpenAI), Smart Wallet sends only a text summary of your financial data (category totals, spending trends, budgets, etc.) to the AI provider over an encrypted HTTPS connection to generate insights.

We do not receive, store, or process this information.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or third parties. The only situations where information leaves your device are:

When you intentionally export or share a file.
When you enable AI Insights using your own API key.

Children's Privacy

Smart Wallet is not intended for children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page together with the updated revision date.
